Feel The Love

Valentine’s Day was celebrated a few weeks late this year thanks to the recent snowstorm. But it didn’t matter a bit to the animals and volunteers at the Emergency Pet Shelter in Garden City. We visited the shelter again not only to help out but to say a big ” thank you ” to the volunteers. The first order of business was to socialize and play with the cats. The number of animals at the shelter has decreased dramatically and so have the number of adoptable animals. There are four beautiful cats and seven friendly dogs that need forever homes.

After our time with the cats we shared a delicious lunch which we prepared with the volunteers. We wanted to thank these hard working and dedicated women who have been at the shelter every day since superstorm Sandy hit. They devoted themselves to making ” a home away from home ” for these displaced pets in a very difficult set of circumstances. The love, comfort and feeling of security they provided could be felt as soon as you walked in the door. Since we have been helping out at the shelter we wanted to do something a little special for the volunteers. What better time to say thank you than Valentine’s Day ? We all had a great time.

Would you open your hearts and homes and consider adopting one of these wonderful animals ? They have been through so much and so deserve a forever home. The shelter will be closing in March and we need to find homes ASAP !!! Thank you for your help!
